Senior Industrial Designer
We are seeking a Senior Industrial Designer with 6+ years of experience to join our design team. The ideal candidate should bring a well-balanced mix of industrial design, project management, user research and business skills to the table, and have significant project experience in both medical devices and consumer products, including exposure to FDA human factors regulations. As a Senior Industrial Designer, you will be a team leader, driving design programs from proposal through profitable project completion using the power of WhiteBoard's multidisciplinary team. You will be expected to deliver the innovative, cost effective solutions our clients have come to expect.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and communicate creative design solutions
  • Establish budgets, monitor, schedule and manage projects
  • Build client relationships
  • Originate and develop product concepts

Minimum position requirements:

  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in industrial design
  • 6+ years of diverse industrial design work experience
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Strong conceptual and creativity skills
  • Excellent sketching, rendering and 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred), Illustrator and PhotoShop skills
  • Excellent understanding of engineering, materials, ergonomics, production and manufacturing processes

Design Engineer
We are currently looking for talented Design Engineers to join our team, work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment and grow with us.

Responsibilities:
  • Create appropriate 2D and 3D CAD files utilizing learned skills in a format best suited to meet the project requirements
  • Analyze various production techniques and apply them to each product scenario
  • Meet with new and existing clients to develop design specifications
  • Establish budgets, monitor, schedule, and coordinate projects
  • Assist other WhiteBoard departments with CAD and engineering support
  • Inform Engineering Department of new and emerging technologies
  • Develop/originate product concepts

To succeed in this environment, you must possess:

  • Superior Pro/ENGINEER or SolidWorks CAD skills (5,000 hours minimum)
  • A strong mechanical aptitude and experience with mechanism development
  • Extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes ranging from injection molding to sheet metal and the materials associated with those processes
  • A high level of CAD surfacing ability
  • Knowledge of electronics and electrical systems (preferred)
  • A natural ability to think on your feet with little direction
  • Strong initiative and the ability to work with creative individuals (industrial designers)

The successful candidate must have a minimum of 5 years experience developing product, either a two or four-year technical degree and an incredible appetite to learn.

Interactive & Print Designer
We are seeking an Interactive Media Designer and developer. It is important that the candidate has the ability to produce solid design and possesses the technical skills needed to generate good code. At WhiteBoard, you could be working on a web site in the morning and a print collateral piece in the afternoon. So, we're looking for a flexible person who can contribute to a wide range of projects.

Project management will include writing proposals, billing projects and contacting clients directly. The ability to interact professionally, and sociably, with others is a must. As a web and print designer, you will be a team leader, driving design programs from concept through development using the creative power of WhiteBoard's multidisciplinary team.

The applicant must be versed in the development of W3C compliant web sites using Dreamweaver, HTML/XHTML, CSS, CS5, and Flash. Knowledge of any advanced scripting languages is a plus.

A candidate must possess the ability to:

  • Work with staff and clients to drive a project from beginning to end
  • Gain the confidence and respect of WhiteBoard's multi-faceted staff, diverse clients and vendors
  • Communicate effectively, both in writing and orally
  • Succeed individually and in a team environment
  • Accept new challenges and thrive on learning and growing as a designer

Minimum position requirements:

  • Web experience with the ability to design and program a site from begining to end
  • Have a strong design sense
  • A high skill level with HTML/XHTML, CSS, Flash, and the entire Creative Suite
  • Excellent understanding of current web and print technologies and best practices
  • Proven ability to manage projects to completion within budget and on-time
  • Experience with digital photography a plus
  • Experience with GUI design a plus
