Wagner needed to create a full line of power painters that was exclusive to Lowe’s Home Improvement Stores and offered several unique features along with a whole new brand identity.
Longtime development partners Wagner and WhiteBoard set out to create a family of four power painters, two power rollers, and a blow-molded backpack container. The synergy among WhiteBoard’s in-house teams allowed for the quick progression from sketches and renderings to an engineering database in just seven weeks. Despite the compressed timeline, enhanced product features were implemented, including a user-friendly interface and strategically placed venting to reduce noise levels. Finally, the use of prototypes for a photo shoot sped up packaging development while also verifying the engineering database. In the end, the full product line premiered on store shelves in just nine months.
